Property agency and consultancy, Graham + Sibbald, has acquired the established independent Chartered Surveying firm of Keningtons, taking over its two offices in Swindon and central London.
Currently, G+S has more than 220 staff with offices in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh and elsewhere in Scotland.
The two new Keningtons offices will become the focus of Graham + Sibbald’s expansion in the south of England. The deal will enable them to expand the reach of their professional property services to national clients across the UK, including property management, acquisitions and disposals, investment and development services, rent reviews and lease renewals, valuations, specialist professional advice, and building surveying.
Graham + Sibbald can also offer services in the carbon and sustainability, social and student housing, hotel and leisure, planning, petroleum and roadside, and architectural sectors.
Senior Partner at Graham + Sibbald, Les McAndrew, says: “After opening our Manchester office in 2019 and working hard to build a name for ourselves in England with further offices opening in London and Birmingham, I am delighted to announce that Graham + Sibbald are acquiring the long-established firm of Keningtons.
“I am absolutely confident that the acquisition of Keningtons will give us an excellent platform to springboard from in London and The South and accelerate our growth plans towards specific business targets. We greatly look forward to welcoming the Keningtons team officially into the Graham + Sibbald family and using Marylebone as our new London base.
“Keningtons has been in business since 1935 and provides professional services to a variety of clients including property funds, property companies, landlords, tenants and occupiers, charities, trade unions, the insurance sector, banks and private individuals. The balanced General Practice nature of their business marries very well with that of our own so it’s a great fit.”
The newly acquired offices will operate as “Graham + Sibbald incorporating Keningtons” in London and Swindon. All other offices will continue to trade under the existing Graham + Sibbald banner.
Keningtons’ Managing Partner, Jill Howells, says: “I am excited by the potential of the combined firm. It gives us the expansion we need, as well as more resources and new service lines. The business philosophy and values of Graham and Sibbald are aligned with our own which was a key consideration for the Partners of Keningtons, and we are confident that the integration will bring significant benefits to clients of both firms as well as our employees.
“Our people will continue in the same roles and this will make the transition as seamless as possible allowing us to focus on the future and the great opportunities that lie ahead”.
