The Proposal
The site is currently a brownfield site located within the Stirling City Centre area. Its development would accord with key Scottish Government and Stirling Council planning policy objectives with regard to developing brownfield land, namely NPF4 Policy 9 and LDP Primary Policy 6. This proposal to create a high-density residential offering in a highly accessible, central location with good links to public transport, shops, employment opportunities, and services will also accord with Local Living ambitions set out by the Scottish Government (NPF4 Policy 15). The site is identified for positive future residential development in Stirling Council’s Forthside Masterplan, and this proposal will deliver on the ambition to create a “healthy, sustainable, economically successful and vibrant part of the city”.
The proposal will comprise two five storey residential buildings providing a mix of 1- and 2-bedroom apartments. Each building will be designed as a U-shape with a landscaped courtyard space to form high-quality amenity space for the residents. There is additional landscaping around the perimeter of the site and a green corridor along the southern boundary to provide a pedestrian link from the train station to the river, as part of the wider Forthside masterplan.
Breaking the development into opposing blocks helps reduce its overall massing and compliments the neighbouring Harbour Square and Chandlers Court developments.
Consultation
Westpoint Homes Ltd are delighted to be bringing this proposal forward, and are keen to engage further with the local community to hear your views about the development and how we can work with you to deliver the right proposal for this location.
A Proposal of Application Notice has now been submitted to Stirling Council, outlining the consultation activities that will be undertaken before a planning application has been submitted. A copy of this notice has also been delivered to:
- Cllr Danny Gibson;
- Cllr Susan McGill;
- Cllr Rachel Nunn;
- Cllr Jim Thomson;
- Mercat Cross Community Council; and
- Riverside Community Council.
We will be holding two in-person consultation events so you can meet the project team, find out more about the scheme, and ask any questions you have about the proposals. The first of theses will be held on the 26th August 2026, between 3pm – 7pm at the Theatre Room of the Stirling Enterprise Park, Players Road, FK7 7RP. The event is a drop-in exhibition format, so you can arrive at any time.
At this stage, comments submitted are comments to the project team, and are not formal comments to Stirling Council on the planning application. Comments on the application can be made once the detailed application has been submitted, and this web page will be updated to confirm when this has been submitted.
In the meantime, details on where to submit comments to the project team can be found at the bottom of this page, as well as on the feedback forms and presentation boards.
Next Steps…
The current proposed timetable is shown below. This is subject to change as the project evolves, but gives an indication of anticipated milestones and landmarks in the project timeline.
Our second public consultation event is being held at the Stirling Enterprise Park (STEP) between 3pm and 7pm on the 26th August. Following this event, a digital copy of the presentation boards will be made available on this website for those that could not attend.

A second consultation event is currently scheduled to be held on the 19th August 2026, also between 3pm and 7pm at the Stirling Highland Hotel.
