UK Chartered Surveyors and Property Consultants Graham + Sibbald has appointed Richard Durkin as Senior Director to lead the growth of its Birmingham office. His appointment strengthens the firm’s expanding UK Capital Markets presence and reinforces Birmingham as a key market for future growth.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the property industry, Richard brings extensive investment and Capital Markets expertise, spanning property transactions, strategic advisory work and complex restructuring situations across the Midlands and wider UK market.
Throughout his career, Richard has advised a broad range of clients including investors, developers, lenders, restructuring advisors and property companies, helping them navigate acquisitions, disposals and situations where a combination of commercial judgement and detailed property expertise is required.
His experience spans a wide range of property sectors and market conditions, from conventional investment and development transactions through to more complex restructuring situations. This breadth of experience has given him a strong understanding of both the property fundamentals that underpin value and the wider commercial considerations that influence investment decisions.
Richard has built his career around taking a pragmatic, deal-focused approach, identifying opportunities, solving problems and delivering the best possible outcomes for clients. He has been involved in transactions across the Midlands and wider UK market and brings an established network of relationships across the investment, development, lending and advisory communities
Over the last year, Graham + Sibbald has completed several strategic acquisitions, most recently Fleurets, a specialist leisure property consultancy. Together with Richard’s appointment, this investment has built an 18-strong Birmingham team offering commercial agency, hotel and leisure, valuation, healthcare, planning and development, building surveying and asset services.
