Scottish property firm Graham + Sibbald are delighted to announce that the Castle Hotel, Marquis Drive, Huntly, Aberdeenshire, AB54 4SH has been sold.
The Castle Hotel, an historic property, has its origins in the mid-18th Century, when it was known as Sandieston House, and in the early 19th Century, Georgian period, it was significantly extended by the Dukes of Gordon family and named Huntly Lodge. It was in 1946 the property was converted to an hotel, with the Castle Hotel a “proud” mansion house hotel, in its own grounds, situated on the northern outskirts of Huntly. This rural bliss of Aberdeenshire is renowned for its agricultural prowess and field sports, including fishing on the nearby River Deveron, and many famous whisky distilleries are located a short distance from the Castle Hotel.
The magnificent Castle Hotel, Huntly has 18 Letting Bedrooms, Lounge Bar, Dining Room, 2 Lounges/Meeting Rooms, a Garden Terrace, and all set in approximately 11 acres of its own grounds.
The hotel has been sold by Andrew and Linda Meiklejohn, who have owned and operated the Castle Hotel for over 21 years.
The new owner is DTSW Properties Limited who have both local and connections with the whisky industry and, after refurbishing the hotel, plan to combine the use and operation of the hotel with their business and further developing the local and leisure custom.

The purchase price was undisclosed but selling agents Graham + Sibbald confirmed it was close to the asking price of “Offers around £1,250,000” for the Castle Hotel, Huntly.
