On Friday 26th August Graham + Sibbald took a team to Downs Syndrome Scotland’s (DSS) 40th Anniversary golf event held at the Kilmacolm Golf Club. The team included Paul Docherty (Partner, Building Surveying), Peter Seymour (Director, Hotel + Leisure) and 2 guests. The team triumphed by winning the competition and Peter also won the individual prize after a stunning round of 1 under from 2 par gross.
The day was a great success finishing with DSS raising around £10k from the event.
Peter commented, “We were delighted to take a team to a wonderfully well supported golf day in Kilmacolm Golf Club. The charity aims to support families who have diagnosed downs syndrome children throughout their lives, especially in the early phases of the child’s life. The charity is not well known but does some amazing work giving these special children the best opportunity at a brilliant life.
The day was excellently organised and our guests enjoyed the course, the weather and event. Our thanks to the staff at Kilmacolm for running such a brilliant day.”
Paul added, “I thoroughly enjoyed the event organised by this very worthwhile charity. Having a younger brother who was born with Downs Syndrome, I have witnessed at first hand the challenges which face this special group of people. As such I was delighted to be able to support the charity and their efforts to promote and assist Downs people to lead a normal life, fully integrating within the wider community”
