East Ayrshire Council are currently holding a public consultation as they continue the process of producing the Local Development Plan 2. When adopted, this Plan will replace the existing Local Development Plan, adopted in 2017. The Council are currently consulting on the Main Issues Report, an early stage of the plan-making process.
This consultation is an opportunity to promote your land to seek a specific land use allocation. Securing an allocation would enhance the planning position and assist any future planning applications.
The consultation is also an opportunity to protect your assets if they are already allocated within the existing 2017 Plan. This is an opportunity to demonstrate that they remain effective development sites and should remain allocated for future development.
This consultation process is ongoing until Friday 31st July 2020.
The plan making process takes a number of years before a new adopted plan will be in place. Plans are currently reviewed on a 5-year cycle. However, the Scottish Government is proposing to change this to 10 years. It is therefore important to engage with this plan making process at the early consultation stages to protect and enhance your land and property assets for the future.
Graham + Sibbald’s Planning and Development Team can assist with making a submission to this consultation process. If you would like to speak to a member of the Planning and Development about making a submission to this consultation or would like any further information about the Local Development Plan process please do not hesitate to get in touch with us at planning@g-s.co.uk.
