UK Chartered Surveyors and Property Consultants, Graham + Sibbald, have announced the promotion of Hugh Anderson to Partner level within their Hotel + Leisure department.
Hugh, who joined Graham + Sibbald from Lambert Smith Hampton in late 2021, has been an invaluable team member, aiding in the firms ambitious plans to provide hotel and licenced leisure services across Manchester and England, with support from colleagues in London and Scotland.
In a bid to aid clients in the recovery of the sector, the Graham + Sibbald team are readily preparing for the upcoming Business Rates Revaluation, which may pose a specific disadvantage to many UK hotels, licensed and leisure premises. This is given that turnover is included as part of the calculated value, the tone date for which is 1st April 2021, which just so happens so coincide with when lockdown restrictions ceased and pent-up demand saw a number of businesses boom, with the effect of the “Staycation” market benefitting many hotels.
Hugh Anderson commented, “Any rise in business distress and insolvency will lead to the increasing need for the sector to seek robust advice. The prudent approach for clients is to seek quality brokerage, valuation and consultancy services as the compounding challenges facing the sector further impact on operational real estate.”
“Graham + Sibbald are increasingly recognised as one of the leaders in hotel, leisure and hospitality across the UK, our team working across a range of business types and sectors, with a particular strength of expertise in the Hotel, Licensed and Leisure sector.”
The Graham + Sibbald team seek to add value every step of the way – whether it’s using their negotiating skills to get the best possible deal, or looking for opportunities to maximise the value of your assets through strategic enhancements.
