Syd Davison

Consultant

Syd Davison joined Graham + Sibbald in late 2022 as a Consultant within the Commercial Valuation team. Having worked as a Principal Valuer within the Valuation Office which he joined in 1986, Syd brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the commercial valuation team which has benefited both clients and colleagues.

Specifically focussing on compulsory purchase work, Syd has worked on some high-profile projects across Scotland for public sector clients such as Clyde Gateway, Glasgow City Council, Transport Scotland, Scottish Power and North Lanarkshire and Dumfries and Galloway Councils amongst others. His expertise stems to the provision of budget estimates, reporting on costs for financial planning purposes as well as negotiating compensation packages on behalf of the acquiring authority with those affected by compulsory purchase.

At the same time, due to his considerable knowledge of the subject, Syd is able to negotiate claims on behalf of individual claimants, to ensure they are fairly compensated for their loss. Within the past year he has successfully negotiated compensation packages for those impacted by flood prevention schemes, and for those affected by compulsory purchase schemes promoted by North Lanarkshire Council and Fife Council. He is currently advising other claimants on proposals by North Lanarkshire, The City of Edinburgh City and Renfrew Councils.
