Sanctuary Students

Graham + Sibbald received instructions from Sanctuary Students to undertake a refurbishment project of student accommodation bedrooms and kitchens across three sites; Nick Everton House (Manchester), Moor Lan (Preston) and Marybone 1 (Liverpool) in the Summer of 2019.

Having undertaken Project Management services on behalf of Sanctuary Students in the past, Graham + Sibbald were familiar with the requirements for the three sites and therefore best able to deliver the client with a reliable and high-quality service.

We can also deal with all logistical and compliance issues, ensuring that all relevant financial, statutory and legislative requirements are fully complied with.

Approach

Collaborative working between our Glasgow and Manchester Building Surveying teams was arrangved in order to manage the three separate refurbishment projects with sufficient resource to meet strict timescales and deadline as set by the client.

The use of the past experience on similar projects with application of lessons learned from previous projects aided in minimising site delays.

Full contract administration was carried out by Graham + Sibbald right through to completion of all three projects.

Key Challenges

Due to the buildings being student occupied, there was a very limited seven-week timescale during the Summer holidays to undertake works across the three separate sites.

Results

All projects were successfully delivered on time and cumulatively came under budget.
