An EPC gives information on how energy efficient a building is and sets out how this can be improved. It is a legal requirement to provide an EPC when a property is sold or rented. The EPC must also be displayed within properties that are being let and an energy performance rating must be included in the sales brochures of properties that are being marketed for sale.

Property Inspection
Our RICS-registered and qualified Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs) will undertake a thorough energy assessment of the property in question.
Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) Reports
Following on from the inspection, relevant data including a property description, details of dimensions along with information about heating, ventilation, flooring and construction will be entered into Government approved software to calculate the dwelling’s energy performance. A standardised EPC report will then be produced.
The EPC will detail how energy efficient a building is and give it a rating from A (very efficient) to G (inefficient). It will let the person who will use the building know how costly it will be to heat and light, and what its carbon dioxide emissions are likely to be.
The EPC will also make a series of recommended improvements and state what the energy-efficiency rating could be if these were made. It will also highlight cost-effective ways to achieve a better rating.
